Project Concern, Inc. is a trusted nonprofit organization that has served Atchison County since 1967, providing essential services that enhance local residents' well-being, mobility, and independence. With a focus on senior nutrition and public transportation, the organization operates two senior centers offering congregate meals, social activities, and a home-delivered “Meals on Wheels” program that collectively provides nearly 40,000 meals each year to individuals aged 60 and older—regardless of income.
In addition to nutrition services, Project Concern operates the county’s only general public transportation program. With no local taxi service and limited rideshare availability, this demand-response transit system is a lifeline for many, offering safe, affordable rides for appointments, shopping, employment, and more. Your support helps sustain and grow these vital services, ensuring all residents—particularly older people and those without reliable transportation—can access the resources they need to live safely and independently.
